Sourdough Classes
If you've ever wondered what it feels like to turn flour, water and salt into something with a soul, come and spend the day with us at Chapel Kitchen.
In the heart of historic Middleham, North Yorkshire, our classes are held in a lovingly restored 19th century chapel. Whether you are a complete novice or someone who has done a bit of baking, our small classes will help introduce you to the art of sourdough baking and help develop the skills and confidence to work with this amazing dough.
We will be working in a large domestic kitchen, rather than a classroom, to make sure that all the skills are transferable to your own home setting.
It's a full day course (10am - 5pm), with lunch included, and you will go home with all of the bread that you've baked, recipes and a tub of your own sourdough starter.
We have a maximum of four people, in each class, so that everyone has ample time to work with the dough and talk through their questions. We will be baking two different types of bread loaves and will also be looking at how to use inclusions and different ways to use the sourdough discard.

Classes are £125 per person and include refreshments, recipes, lunch and a take-home sourdough starter.

These demonstrations provide a perfect opportunity to learn the nuances of this distinctive cooker, ensuring that you can appreciate and utilise its versatility in your own kitchen.
Our half day demonstrations are designed to be both educational and enjoyable. They include a delicious lunch and a collection of recipes to take home.
We will take you through a full meal, using the hot and simmer plates, the grill and the ovenBt the end of the session, you will feel ready impress friends and family with a delicious meal.

Bagels, brioche and pitta bread baking classes
Nothing tastes as good as fresh, homemade baked goods.
Using recipes from her award winning bakery, Lisa will teach you how to make bagels, brioche and pitta breads that can be used for every meal of the day.

We can accommodate groups of up to eight people, for either half or full days, ensuring a personalised and intimate experience for everyone involved. Each session includes lunch and hands on experience, the day is crafted to suit the needs and preferences of your group.

Directions
From the A1(M), take junction 51, heading toward Leyburn on the A684.
Just before Leyburn town centre, take a left on the A6108, following signs to Middleham.
Once you reach Middleham, head toward the castle, and then park anywhere on the cobbled area.
The Chapel is located in the corner of the West End, diagonal from the Victorian fountain.
